The historic village of Orange is situated in the lower Rhone Valley between Montelimar and Avignon. It occupies a prime position on the valley plain between a network of rivers and streams that feed the Rhone, and forms an idyllic area in which to search for French property in the Rhone Valley.
Orange is a tourist hotspot in the Rhone Valley. Visitors come from all over the world to marvel at the village's two Roman monuments - the Antique Theatre and the Arc-de-Triomphe. The Roman theatre is the most well preserved theatre in Europe, and has been given World Heritage status by UNESCO. It can seat up to 10,000 spectators, and is still used today for outdoor plays and concerts. The Arc de Triomphe is an impressive Roman gateway, originally built as a demonstration of the wealth and power that existed inside the Roman Empire.
Inside the village itself visitors take a step back in time. Narrow winding streets over which Orange property crowds are typical of the main part of the village. For French property hunters there is a good selection of Orange property types, including townhouses, apartments and villas. On the outskirts of the village plots of land are available to purchase on which that dream villa in France can be built.
