Courchevel is located in the famous Three Valleys close to Meribel, Val Thorens and Bozel in the Massif Vanoise. It is one of the largest resorts in the French Alps, comprising of five separate residential areas that wind themselves up the hillside. Each area possesses its own set of shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities, so offering a good choice of location in which to search for available French property to buy or rent in the region.
St Bon is the lowest part of the Courchevel complex. It is a small historic village where Courchevel property congregates around the impressive village church, which has an 18th century altarpiece. Le Praz (also known as Courchevel 1300) is the next village up. Slightly larger than St Bon, Le Praz offers authentic Alpine living at the foot of the Olympic ski jump, which was used in the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. Courchevel 1550 and Courchevel 1650 are the next two residential areas along the winding road, which eventually leads to the highest and most luxurious part of Courchevel known as Courchevel 1850.
In all parts of Courchevel prospective French property buyers will find a good selection of property for sale. Most Courchevel property is of traditional wood construction with slate roofs. The most expensive property in the resort is found in Courchevel 1850, where even a basic chalet-style villa in France will cost upwards of 1,000,000 euros.
