The department of Cotes D'Armor is situated in Northern Brittany. It is bound by the departments of Finistere to its west and Ile et Vilaine to its east, while the department of Morbihan can be found to its south. Cotes D'Armor is known for its rugged landscape and craggy coastline, and is an ideal location for those looking to buy French property in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
St Brieuc in the north-west is the most significant town in Cotes D'Armor, and is the department's main centre for tourism. Commercial fishing is a big part of the town - fresh fish is always readily available on market days in St Brieuc. The town of Dinan in the north-east of Cotes D'Armor offers pleasant surroundings. This small historic town is situated on the River Rance, and is dominated by the old town and the ramparts that surround it. Cotes D'Armor property in and close by to Dinan is much sought-after, with many exquisite homes available for sale. Prices are quite reasonable too - a 4-bed villa in France with private swimming pool costing around 260,000 euros on the outskirts of Dinan.
Moving further south, rural Cotes D'Armor yields small villages and hamlets between rolling hills and forests. The area around Landes du Menez is particularly inspiring, and is an excellent location in which to look for secluded Cotes D'Armor property. French property prices are also cheaper in this area than along the coast.
