Bouches du Rhone occupies a prime position on the Mediterranean coastline between Var and Herault in the Provence region. It is a sprawling department that takes in Marseille, Arles and the majority of the Camargue wetlands along the south coast. If you're looking for property in the tranquil surroundings of Camargue expect to pay a premium. A 3-bed villa to the south of Arles with views south over the Camargue is likely to cost 450,000 euros or more.
