The unique alpine resort of Avoriaz is situated close to the Swiss border in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps. Only minutes away from its larger neighbour - Morzine - the landscaped resort is perched upon a rocky outcrop above a small lake near the mountain of les Hautforts. Built like a miniature space-age city, Avoriaz could not be anymore different from the traditional wood chalet resorts of Combloux or Bozel.
